Public Benevolent Institutions (PBI’s), FBT Exempt Organisations and FBT Rebateable Organisations

For businesses classified as PBI’s, FBT Exempt or FBT Rebateable, Enlist offer a salary packaging solution that administers all aspects of the program from initial consultation with employees, right through to reconciliation of Salary Package Account balances at the completion of each arrangement. Our solution offers employers a completely outsourced function that alleviates all cash flow and administration burdens, manages document compliance, adds value, and helps to improve the workplace environment.

Enlist offer the following key deliverables:

  • Personal consultation with employees;
  • Provision of benefit cost analysis reports to help employees understand the costs and associated benefits;
  • Extensive list of allowable items including but not limited to mortgage payments, credit card bills, child care, rent payments and general living expenses;
  • Ability to include restaurant expenses beyond the FBT threshold limits, subject to compliance with ATO regulations and employer’s corporate policies;
  • Direct interface with employer Payroll, Finance and Human Resource departments;
  • Fixed salary sacrifice costs for pre-determined periods nominated by employees;
  • Payments of all expenses direct to nominated 3rd parties or reimbursements to employees, as required;
  • Single monthly GST invoice statements allowing employers to claim GST where-ever applicable;
  • Total cash flow management – Enlist pay all 3rd party expenses by due dates regardless of balance in employee Salary Package Accounts;
  • Zero fees imposed on negative Salary Package Account balances;
  • Compliance management in relation to documentation, employer corporate policies and salary packaging restrictions up to FBT threshold limits;
  • Full reconciliation of Salary Package Account balances; and
  • A comprehensive range of corporate reports.

    For the vast majority of Australian businesses which are required to pay full FBT Enlist provide a salary packaging administration service tailored specifically towards items which offer genuine tax benefits. All such items either qualify for FBT concessions or do not incur any FBT as they are deemed ‘FBT Exempt’ or ‘Otherwise Deductible’ benefits.

    The most popular items include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Laptop or notebook computers and portable printers;
  • Palm pilots (personal digital organisers);
  • Airport lounge membership (i.e. Qantas club);
  • Additional superannuation contributions to complying funds;
  • Child care (subject to certain criteria);
  • Professional financial consulting fees; and
  • Work-related self education.
